The Juno Awards does not include Drake’s hit album Scorpion

According to the CBC News , As the Juno Awards finally revealed the nominees, there was one missing from the roster, Canada’s most successful artist, Drake. According to Spotify, Drake has been one of the most successful streaming artists out there. This is because of his hit album, Scorpion taking the spotlight. When it was released in June of 2018 the album took over the billboard hot 100 music charts with Drake also breaking the record held by the Beatles.

Drake is missing the the Juno awards because Drake did not submit his album to the Juno Awards. This is the second year he did not participate in the awards shows he also did not submit his best selling mixtape, More Life last year.

Drake has not returned to the Junos because he is just embarrassed. In 2016 Drake submitted an album with a song everybody is familiar with and also a meme, Hotline Bling, but he went zero to five nominations. Drake is probably not going to return as Juno voters are not giving him reasons to come back. In 2011, he was nominated for six Junos, but after the show ended he came up with zero awards. This is also the first time in 40 years that someone who hosted the show didn’t receive an award.

We will likely not be seeing Drake returning to the Junos anytime soon.
